Costa Rica La Flor de Roble

from 15.65

Region: Brunca

Town: Coto Brus

Farm: La Flor de Robles

Producer: Don Ramon

Varietal: Venecia

Process: Honey

Elevation: 1400 m

Notes: Baked pear, nectarine, nutmeg

This coffee is produced by Don Ramon on his farm La Flor de Robles in the Brunca region of southern Costa Rica. Only 100% ripe cherries were picked after which they were mechanically depulped using the minimum amounts of water and keeping as much mucilage on the parchment as possible to elevate the attributes. The coffee was then taken to patios, located in greenhouses, where they are slow dried, taking between 10 and 12 days to reach 10% humidity, after the drying process the coffee is packed and taken to their warehouse to allow the coffee to rest before transport to our facility.

******Venecia variety notes:  Natural mutation of Burbon created by the Instituto del Café de Costa Rica (ICAFE). Highly susceptible to leaf rust and coffee berry disease. Quality is high and optimal at lower elevations showing lots of sweetness.
